High School Rugby

High School and U19 rugby has had a home in Worcester for over a decade with the Spartans and the Clovers. While those teams have evolved and changed over the years there has always been a big push from the senior clubs to get kids of all ages involved in the sport. Pre-Covid a plan was put in place to partner with local Worcester high schools to bring rugby to them and get teams together. While there may have been a delay from the shut downs and quarantines, rugby prevailed!
This spring we got back together, worked with both Worcester Tech and Burncoat High and made a plan. Each school now has a boys and girls team to start learning the game, we have both coaching staff and senior player volunteers to ensure the kids are getting everything they can out of the program.
The Worcester Tech team had their first scrimmage this month against the Algonquin team and won 22-12. We are so proud of the hard work they put in and can't wait to see what else they accomplish!
