May Street School Cleanup
Community service is an important pillar of what the Worcester Rugby Community stands on. We are striving to give back to the city and lend a hand where we can. For this year's earth day we partnered with May Street Elementary School to help clean up their playground and bring new life to where the kids play. We worked side by side with their principal on projects like painting games on the pavement, spreading mulch, clearing brush and unwanted shrubs. Players from all the teams of our community came together with the help of local business, HomeHarvest, to complete the projects and give these students the playground of their dreams!
We were thrilled to hear recess was filled with so much joy and excitement that following Monday!

On Sunday May first members of the Worcester Rugby Club descended on May Street School for a beautification project. Within the project several activities were painted on the schoolyard surface. They included hopscotch, four square, an alphabet caterpillar, freshening of the basketball and kickball areas and several other activities. In addition the group did an expert job moving 30 yards of mulch to brighten up our playground. The group also pruned the area surrounding the playground removing invasive vegetation.
On Monday our surprised students took to the completely transformed area with great joy. They immediately began using the new activities and explored the area excitedly with curiosity. The May Street Community is indebted to the Worcester Rugby Club for this impactful act of kindness and volunteerism. Many thanks from all of us.
