Shamrocks Win Women’s D2 Championship
The Road to Nationals Begins!
The Shamrocks made it out of the first weekend of playoffs with a tough win against Burlington. They fought to the very last whistle and it paid off!
The next match was against Albany who had an undefeated season, which can be intimidating when walking into a game. That didn’t hold the Shamrocks back - the game was back and forth in the first half, ending with the Shamrocks being down. Going into the second half they knew they had some work to put in to turn the game around. The Shamrocks found their second wind after halftime with the support of their teammates and the packed sidelines and quickly scored a few tries back to back. It was not an easy forty minutes but the Shamrocks worked hard and ended the game with a win! The score was 20-24 at the final whistle.
The Shamrocks are now on the road to Nationals! They will compete at Regionals in Richmond VA, April 28-30th. If they win both games they advance to the National semi-finals to be held on June 3, 2023.
